Molding:
Process: a certain amount of pre-mixed and infiltrated materials are added into the metal pair mold, and cured and molded by heating and pressure.
Material: Various varieties of molding compounds, including thermoset composites such as SMC (Sheet Molding Compound), BMC (Block Molding Compound), TMC (Thick Sheet Molding Compound), etc., as well as thermoplastic composites such as GMT (Glass Fiber Mat Thermoplastic), LFT-D (Long Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites for Direct On-line Production of Processed Products).
Applications: Widely used in the production of automobile body panels, bumpers, gear box housings, small truck compartments and other components.
Vacuum Blister Molding:
Process: The composite material is covered on the surface of the mold, and the negative pressure of vacuum is used to make it stick to the surface of the mold, and the finished product is obtained by heating and curing.
Characteristics: Suitable for manufacturing flat or lightweight structural parts.
Manual Laminated Molding:
Process: Reinforced fibers are laminated together by hand, then impregnated with resin, and finally cured to get the finished product.
Characteristics: Highly flexible, suitable for small-lot production and complex shapes.
In-situ molding:
Process: Taking thermoplastic composites as an example, the thermoplastic prepreg tape reaches the lay-up head through the guiding system, the heat source heats up and melts the thermoplastic resin in the prepreg tape, the pressure rollers pressurize and lay-up the tape, and then cools and sets the shape.
Characteristics: Solve the problem that the size of oversized and thick parts is limited by the size of the hot press tank, it is an in-line molding method without post-treatment process, short production cycle, high efficiency and low cost.
Automated preparation:
Process: using automated equipment and robot operation for composite material molding, such as automated laminating machine, automated compression molding machine and so on.
Characteristics: Improve production efficiency, reduce production cost, improve product consistency and accuracy.
